CHILDREN AT RISK EVALUATION SHOWS KISD NO LONGER PREMIER SCHOOL DISTRICT:

The special section of the Sunday, April 26, 2015 edition of the Children at Risk evaluation of Harris County school districts shows Katy ISD is no longer the best of the best.  Lack of leadership and the inability and deliberate decision to not change to Type #1 teaching and curriculum has caused this decline. 

Keep in mind that all KISD schools have the same level of quality of teachers, the same curriculum, the same new or old buildings, and the same superintendent.  The variable seems to be a direct correlation between family interest in their own children and level of achievement.  In other words, where students go to school, who their teachers are and how wealthy or poor they are hasn't as much influence on their academic ability and success as whether or not their parents taught them to read (for sure the school district is unable to do that).
