DAVE  MUNDY'S WORK IN KATY TEXAS:

Dave Mundy is a journalist who worked at The Katy Times in the late 1990's.  He's very smart, and when many of us started telling him about Outcome Based Education and the School to Work agenda, he did his homework, listened to what we told him, and "got it" very quickly.

Unfortunately for me, he wasn't the editor of the Times while I was still on the Katy school board.  Had he been, things would have been very different for me.

Mr. Mundy wrote extensively about Katy ISD, the SBOE, Mike Moses, and the Texas Education Agency.

At about the same time, George Bush, was trying to stake his claim to fame (and the presidency) by being a whiz bang education governor.  He wasn't, and Dave Mundy pointed that out with great regularity.

Politics being what it is, The Katy Times cratered when the Bush thugs came to call and told Mr. Mundy that he couldn't write about things educational anymore if he wanted to keep his job.

Mr. Mundy, being a man of principle, left Katy.  We all hated to see him go!

He now lives in Gonzales, Texas.  He is running for position on the State Board of Education in November 2014.

Folks there would be wise to elect him.  He knows a great deal about the pitfalls of "education reform," and he would be a welcome addition to the SBOE.
