The Importance of Ability Grouping:

The sign of a "good" school district is whether or not they have ability grouping.  It's that simple.  Liberal education reformers got rid of ability grouping as their first move.  In Katy ISD it occurred, without Board approval, in 1991 with a superintendent directive. We haven't had ability grouping since.  Education "reform" cannot move forward unless there is heterogeneous grouping.  It goes along with the mantra "we're all the same" which as anyone with a brain knows, is baloney. Such grouping also makes it impossible for a teacher to teach!

Besides mindless adherence to education philosophy mandated from on high, the administrators in charge of our school district are not capable of a level of intellectual discernment that would allow for cogent decisions on such a matter.  Recall that the lowest scores on the SAT and the ACT are earned by those who major in education.  This group of people do not attend major universities.  Their college coursework is mediocre, and if one peruses their transcripts, one will often find failure.  Also adherence to the grand plan is mandated if one is to keep his/her position and move up the ladder of success and greed.

Those being the facts, we cannot expect much from these people.  I'm not saying they are not nice or not caring or anything of the sort--it's just that their lack of an academic education themselves makes them mostly incapable of seeing what they are doing to the minds of our children.
