MAKING USE OF THE GT PROGRAM IN OUR PUBLIC SCHOOLS

By Mary McGarr

One of the uses made of the Gifted and Talented program in our public schools is to manipulate and plant progressivist thoughts in our children's heads.

That sounds like a radical statement, but below I'm posting some examples from things my own children did as well as examples from others.  ALL of these are from the Katy Independent School District.

The point that I am making is that the public schools use the curriculum, and especially the GT curriculum to brainwash students.  It's subtle.  It's low-key. It's deceptive.  But it's extremely effective.

My son brought this paper home in 1984.  He was in the GT program at Nottingham Country Elementary.  Although I don't think they called it the "Futurist Program" at the time, that's what they were doing.

If you pay attention, you will see that KISD enters the Futurism contests during the school year.  It's a very organized effort.  Sounds harmless, yes?  It's not.

Even the Katy ISD Mission Statement  indicates such an interest in the "future":   http://www.katyisd.org/dept/communications/Documents/Leadership%20Katy/Katy%20ISD%20Mission%20Statement.pdf

Stop and ask yourself why there is such an emphasis on the "future."  School should be about the past and the present.  If the students get that, the future will come to them without spending time in school contemplating what it will be like for them.  That's like spending time daydreaming!  And of course I believe there is a more serious intent in this regard.

Here is a paper that my son wrote:

A NEW WORLD FOR THE FUTURE

By XXXX McGarr

A new world should have more space so people have more space to work, build, and play.  It should have three rulers for each continent instead of one so there will be less economical problems with other countries.

Instead of having one brain decide the future, we will have three.

The air should be cleaner so people don't get as many lung problems.

Different kinds of people should be accepted by the people living in that environment because if we don't we just might start a war.

Obviously he had learned, unknowingly, and  I'm guessing and in a very simplistic manner, about all sorts of environmental crap, the tri-lateral effort of mega governments, and multiculturalism. I'm certain those topics were not actually called by their real names.

None of those things should have been being taught to my TEN YEAR OLD KID!!! Those are subjects that are for PARENTS to teach their children.

Those are political matters that have no place in a public school education, unless of course, there's a hidden agenda being perpetrated by those in charge (and I believe that there is....)!
