REPEATED ATTEMPTS TO IMPLEMENT BLOCK SCHEDULING:

There is also the reoccurring effort to do block scheduling.  That matter is discussed elsewhere on this web site.  I detail how having block scheduling is simply a ruse to cut time for the students and give time to the teachers for sitting around.

Since I'm no longer a teacher, I have no idea how much "conference period" time is wasted by teachers these days, but I can tell you that when I WAS a teacher, it was simply a free period to sit in the lounge.

Today academic teachers in junior highs have the same periods off so they can sit around and talk about the students.  I find that practice highly offensive.  Teachers don't need to talk to other teachers about their mutual students.
