Veteran Katy ISD Trustee Joe Adams Elected To TASB Board Of Directors

Veteran Katy ISD Trustee Joe Adams has been elected by the Texas Association of School Boards to fill an interim director position on the association’s board of directors.

TASB BOARD MEMBER – Veteran Katy ISD Trustee Joe Adams has been picked to fill an interim seat on the Texas Association of School Boards board of directors.

Adams will represent Region 4, position A on the TASB board.

Adams has served on the Katy ISD Board of Trustees since 1989 in the capacities of president, vice president, secretary, treasurer and sergeant-at-arms. He also currently serves as a director on the Gulf Coast Area Association of School Boards.

Adams also chairs the board for the Southern Federal Credit Union in Houston.

The owner of Budget Blinds/Bluebonnet Painting and Renovation in Katy, Adams previously spent 30 years in the oil and gas business working for several service-related companies in New Orleans, Dallas, London and Cairo.  He has been a member of the International Association of Drilling Contractors since 1980, and holds a B.A. in marketing from Texas A&M University.

TASB is a nonprofit organization established in 1949 to serve local public school districts. Its stated mission includes “promoting educational excellence through advocacy, visionary leadership and high quality services.”
