CORRECTIONS FROM A BOND COMMITTEE MEMBER:
"The Bond Committee "charter" called for 100 core members and 100 alternates. One hundred and thirty two core members were on the committee. Eight students did not vote--so there were 124 voting members.
Only 93 showed up at the last meeting to vote. So 74 out of 124 voted to combine the stadium with the bond.
I think it was a stacked committee.
If one combines the appointed members (25 of them who were selected by the superintendent and the seven board members-), school district employees (11 of them), as well as members of the committee that serve on a board with Superintendent Frailey, (3 of them), or those who work closely with Katy ISD (3 of them)--and that does not count the ones that have a school building named after them,--the District started out with a nice little voting block before the last meeting!"
