KISD MANAGES TO SCHEDULE SEVEN HS FOOTBALL TEAMS INTO ONE STADIUM:
Everyone should be very happy. The Katy ISD administrators finally figured out that seven KISD high school football teams can indeed play their games in one stadium! They really didn't want anyone to know that it was possible.
The 2014 Football Schedule was included in The Katy News that is thrown in everyone's yard for free! Thank you!
Here are the interesting parts:
Cinco Ranch has most of their games at 6:30 PM. They have two Saturday games, four Friday games, and four Thursday games. If anyone is being picked on, it's the Cinco Ranch team. They also play Katy at Rhodes at 11 AM on a Saturday morning.
Mayde Creek has most of their games at six or seven with four of them on Saturday, three of them on Friday, and three of them on Thursday. It has one game at 11 AM on Saturday morning.
Morton Ranch has most of their games in the evenings with one game at 11 AM on a Saturday morning. They have four Saturday games, three Friday games, and three Thursday games.
Seven Lakes has most of their games at six or seven in the evenings. Then have no games on Saturday morning. They have three Saturday games, four Friday games, three Thursday games.
Taylor has most of their games at six or seven in the evenings with two games at 11 AM on a Saturday morning. They have four Saturday games, four Friday games, and two Thursday games.
Tompkins has most of their games at six and seven in the evenings with one game at 11AM on a Saturday morning. They have five Saturday games, four Friday games, and one Thursday game.
Katy has most of their games at 7 PM with one game at 11 AM on a Saturday morning. They have four Saturday games, five Friday games, and one Thursday game.
My questions are these:
Why is Tompkins playing without having a senior class? What happens to their JV team?
Why couldn't games have been played at 2 in the afternoon on Saturdays instead of at 11 AM? Surely it doesn't take that long to turn a stadium around for another game.
Why does Cinco Ranch have four Thursday games and Katy and Tompkins only have one? Doesn't seem fair somehow if playing on Thursdays is such a bad thing.
Actually I don't think playing on Thursdays IS a bad thing. These kids have been playing seventh and eighth grade, Freshman and JV football on week nights for years. No one ever complained before about the school work being affected.
