EVENTS AT MERRELL CENTER IN 2014:

Please let me also point out as I often do to my forgetful Conservative Republican friends: the Merrell Center is part of a government that is funded and subsidized by our tax dollars.  It is competing here (the events that are not KISD schools related) with private enterprise which is losing money because these commercial events can use this building for less money than if they had to pay someone in the private sector.  This is just not right.

Here's how the Merrell Center is Being Used in 2014 (remember the $25 million cost for the building and the $500,000+ per year for the rental/booking agents):
