KATY ISD ADMITS VIOLATING FEDERAL LAW ON ROBOCALL ISSUE:

KATY ISD APOLOGIZES AFTER ROBOCALLS INCIDENT

November 11, 2010 7:06:46 PM PST

KATY, TX -- The Katy Independent School District is apologizing to parents and promising changes after admitting it broke federal law and released private student information to a political action committee. Just before the November election, parents in the district got robocalls on their home, work, even cell phones telling them to vote in favor of the bond proposition.

The district says when it released those numbers it thought it was in accordance with privacy laws, but turns out it wasn't.

The superintendent sent out his apology after the district admitted the privacy violation to 13 Undercover.

[Please note that KISD admitted it's malfeasance AFTER the Bond election was won! Nothing else ever happened about this incident, and now four years later the District appears to be doing the same kind of thing]
