How typically telling that the only quotes are from a special education teacher and an administrator! Do people notice that core subject teachers are never part of these kinds of articles? Of course, that’s part of CScope’s sales technique; they start talking about how radically everything has changed and that veteran teachers will be slow to accept the “new ways.” They also prey on parents’ lack of knowledge about education technique and dazzle them with some stupid power point. Parents walk out of meetings not realizing that their students are being sold into what is the worst movement that public education has ever seen.
The word IS spreading and the unrest is growing among parents. There have been major, very public concerns about CScope in school districts all across the state from not only teachers, but parents. This article is nothing more than damage control. I foresee a quick, but painful death for CScope. I've heard that the State Board of Education has started an investigation into it. Remember, that the SBOE is separate from TEA...they are elected officials. Find out who your State Board of Education representative is here:

Write AND call your representative!!!!!! I have and am hearing some very interesting news. While my representative is very concerned about CScope, if your representative isn't, find out when their term is up and tell him/her that you are going to VOTE him/her out. I would also do the same thing with your school board. When it comes down to it, it's the ignorant school boards that vote on whether to use CScope as a curriculum. You can find out who that is on your district webpage. Do it!!!!

Tell them that the scope and sequence is shallow, lacks depth, and doesn't allow for mastery.

Tell them that the worksheets are a wasteland of grammatical, spelling, and content mistakes.

Tell them that when you look up (and if you don't you should) the class median average on assignments and unit assessments, most students are failing to master whatever it is they claim to teach because the class average is so low (unless you have a teacher or district that is inflating the grades to hide the flaws).

Tell them that many teachers don't send CScope assessments home or even white out or rewrite the worksheet to hide the CScope brand.

Tell them that it is based on Marxism and socialist political theory...that's why you are hearing the word "collaboration" ALL THE TIME....it's all about working together and sharing a common grade.

That last one should get a lot of attention from parents that don’t want their children being groomed to become socialists.

Too bad you censored my first comment. Basically it said that CScope is a sham and your article is nothing more than propaganda.
