Robert Ray Shaw was born on March 31, 1948 in Yale, Oklahoma to Raymond Shaw and Ruby Baker Shaw. On May 30, 1971, he married Cindy Gail Williams in Wilson, North Carolina. He has lived in Katy since 1973, where he was a member of First United Methodist Church, Katy. Robert served on the Katy Independent School District School Board for 15 years. He volunteered many hours coaching Katy American Little League, Katy Little Dribblers Basketball, and served as a referee for Katy ISD Swim Meets. Robert invested all of his free time into his children’s lives which gave him great happiness.

Robert Ray Shaw went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, May 26, 2014 in Katy, Texas at the age of 66 years.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Cindy Shaw; his children, Chuck Shaw and wife Sarah, Allison Shaw Garrard and husband Justin, and Jeff Shaw and wife Ashley; his grandchildren, Abbie Shaw and Alexa Shaw; brother, Walter Shaw and his husband Kyle Shifflett; and other loving family members and many friends.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at First United Methodist Church, in Katy, where funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 29, 2014 with Rev. Marlin Fenn officiating. Interment will be private.

The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Dong Kim, Dr. Jay Zhu, Dr. Branden Hsu, and all their wonderful staff.
