OPEN RECORDS REQUESTS FOR SEPTEMBER 2014:
Notice that I have six requests. One took about one second to generate--the capacity of Wolfe Elementary (I wanted that because when they built the new Wolfe it was designed for 550 students, but now they are saying it only holds 405) Must be a reason for the discrepancy.
I asked about the PowerHouse church property information because I wanted to know when it was decided by the Board to buy the property. There appears to be no record of the vote in an open meeting where there is a description of what the board is voting upon.
Notice that I and others had to ask for the campaign reports. In previous years those documents were on the KISD web site. In the interest of transparency, they had been taken down. It took Trent Seibert at KTRK to get them put back on the web site!
Notice also that approximately 35 of these requests are either for student lists, employee lists or enrollment information, all of which can be accessed in seconds.
The listing of requests for information by KISD schools ( Woodcreek Elementary, WCE, Cy Fair ISD, Morton Ranch ??, Katy ISD, Holland Elementary) seems somewhat misplaced. No KISD school or other school district should have to go through the open records process to get information from their own or another's school district!
I asked about the Muslim prayer room existence because someone was trying to tell me that there was one at Mayde Creek High School. The reply was that there weren't any in any school which is what I thought was true. (Their aren't "prayer rooms" for any religious group in a public school.)
I asked for the amount that was paid to Michelle Hughes who is a trained "facilitator" to manipulate the bond committee. The answer was that she received twenty grand for 40 days of work at $500 a day.
I asked for the student lists because the Open Records Clerk had already given out the list I asked for to the PAC supporting the Bond Referendum and to the Tea Party WITH student information included that is private and confidential! I just wanted to see if they'd give it to me as well. They didn't.
Notice that even former employees and students asking for personnel records or permanent record information are made to go through the Open Records process.
You tell me if you think this clerk is "overworked." Wish I had had this little to do when I taught school!
