STATEMENT OF MY BELIEFS ABOUT PRE-SCHOOL EDUCATION:

I am of the opinion that four and five year old children are much better off staying home with their mothers and playing in the back yard with their friends.

The ONLY reason public schools are pushing Pre-K and full day Kindergarten is that they, as a government, wish to gain control of the minds of children as early as possible. There is no scientific evidence that early pre-school and kindergarten education helps students one bit. (Even if one is a pre-school teacher and has no clue about the agenda, I truly believe that there is one.  That you don't know about it doesn't make it untrue!  Investigate for yourself.)

Parents who are willing partners to such nonsense need to take a good look at themselves as parents and consider what they are doing to their children.

Actually, there may be yet another reason that didn't even occur to me!  How naive I am... Obama may just want to provide government funded day-care to the "undeserving poor" as Alfred P. Doolittle used to call them.

Parents should remember that the State of Texas does not require children to go to school until they are six years old.

I also am of the opinion that one's children will be better off if they enter kindergarten at age six and not age five.  They will have a tremendous advantage the rest of their lives if they are older than the other students.  They will be more mature.  They will have learned more before they even start to school.  They will probably already know how to read before they start to kindergarten.  And the best part, (but only if you really like your children), they will be at home with you a year longer when they are young and down the road as well! They will also be a bit more mature when they leave home to go to college if they are a year older.

If you keep your children away from school for a year more than most everyone else these days, they will be more capable of holding on to YOUR beliefs and attitudes than those of the public school.  That's really important!  That's what the public schools fear the most!
