TEXAS ASSOCIATION OF BUSINESS:

The Texas Association of Business has been around a while, but I don't imagine their current agenda reflects what they have always done.  Most business organizations that I know about started engaging in influencing education matters when the National Governors Conference (led by Governor of Arkansas, Bill Clinton), decided to "restructure" public education in 1989. Businesses all over America joined with the Business Roundtable and decided to intentionally change education in our Country.  Their purpose was to dumb down the populace (contrary to what they always claim they want to do) so that they could have compliant, malleable workers who could read and write--a little--and put Part A to Part B, not question anything they were told and be happy with whatever wages they were paid.  Nice situation for corporations, yes?
